TOILET LEARNING

Toddlers who have not yet mastered the skill of using the toilet will have diapers or pull-ups (supplied by parents) changed by the staff in the designated area.  Children begin showing readiness to use the toilet when they can express that their diaper is soiled, or by tugging/pulling at clothing, ability to pull bottoms up or down, or an expressed interest in the bathroom and or toilet.  When your child is ready to learn to use the toilet, the staff along with your help at home will guide your child in successful use.  Positive reinforcement will be encouraged and accidents will simply be cleaned up.  During this phase it is important for parents to provide extra sets of clothing to be changed if an accident occurs.
