Parents sign-in their child in the lobby and walk them into the classroom.  This allows your child a chance to transition from parent care to the care of the teacher.  Your child also feels valued when a parent has taken the time to enter their classroom—a proud place where they spend a majority of their day.

The teacher will greet children upon arrival.  They are asked to place their belongings into their lockers and become comfortable in their surroundings.  Activities will be available during the morning routine as children arrive.  We serve a healthy breakfast snack at 8:00 a.m.  As the morning continues, the teacher will lead a welcome and circle time.  This is an important time to discuss the day, weather, activities, and expectations.  Children more easily transition when they know what to anticipate.

Teachers guide the children to choose curricular activities.  Classrooms are designed to offer work centers in literacy, math, science, art, music, dramatic and physical play.  Plenty of manipulative material will be available as well as time set aside for free movement around the classroom.

We schedule bathroom breaks and hand washing, though it is our policy that children may use these facilities at any time they are needed.  Snacks are again after nap time, and whole milk is served with meals.  If your child has a food allergy or special diet, we will gladly serve them the food you provide. These routines are followed at both our Dunkirk and Sunderland locations.

Plenty of outdoor play will take place during your child's day.  Children attending full-time or in the Part-Day preschool program will also have nap or rest time.

Parents are expected to enter the classroom to pick-up your child at the end of their day at Kid's Campus.

Parents and Grandparents are welcome to visit their child, volunteer in the classroom, have lunch, or join them on the playground.  Other occasions for special events and activities will take place when parents are especially invited to attend.
